A Journey of Memories and Legacy

My last trip to China with my mom was an unforgettable experience. She managed to secure 10-year visas for us, which was a pleasant surprise. This allowed us to visit twice in two years, a luxury I hadn't anticipated.

The first trip was soon after my grandmother passed away at 96. My mom wanted to honor her by spreading her ashes in various places in China. We visited her hometown, and it was my first time meeting many extended family members. It was a revelation, connecting with my roots in such a profound way.

The following year, we traveled again with less of a specific purpose but with the same depth of meaning. My mom took care of all the arrangements, and I got to see her country through her eyes. It provided a deep insight into her identity and our shared heritage.

After these trips, we continued to travel as a family, but never again just the two of us. My mom passed away in 2021 from cancer, leaving behind dreams of travels unfulfilled. I hope to honor her memory by continuing to explore the world, carrying her adventurous spirit with me.
